Vanguard CCS Hub

Located in northeast Oklahoma, NexGen’s initial undertaking (the "Vanguard CCS Hub") is designed to capture approximately 3.5 million metric tons per year. Over the 20-year injection period, about 70 million metric tons will be captured. The CO₂ will be sourced from a variety of industrial emitters including cement plants, fertilizer facilities, oil refineries and power generation stations.

Secured surface leases comprising approximately 75,000 acres (Phase 1) for storing CO₂ on which up to 10 injection and associated monitoring wells will be drilled.
Once operational, each well will inject for permanent storage a net of 350,000 metric tons of CO₂ per year for 20 years.
Over the life of Phase 1 of Project Vanguard, the projected total cumulative stored CO₂ will be about 70 million metric tons.
